All but One

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

All of our parks are currently open except for wonderland. We expect everything to be fully operational by the beginning of next week, just in time for the new year. South park has three jumps and ten rails. Forest trail has a couple little hits to start and they progressively get bigger, Main park jumps are still being created with all the new snow we just received, but the half pipe is being sessioned on right now. The weather forcast says it is going to be beautiful for the next week, so come out and shred the whole mountain.

Half Pipe Master, Almost Done Building His Baby

Thursday, December 18th, 2008

Danny, our Half-Pipe Master, is getting ready to wench cut our first half pipe of the season. After weeks of hard work and many helpful hands assisting the process of pushing snow into place, it is almost complete. Saturday will be the day to show off your half pipe skills. There have been many rumors about our half pipe this year. To clear them up, we did many hours of dirt work in order to make a “level playing field.” This facilitates the building of our pipe. The entire pipe has been built above ground. The pipe is located in the same place as the Super Pipe and since it is going to have 22′ walls, there is not going to be another pipe built as of now. The run that normally is reserved for the Super Duper Pipe is going to be utilized in many different ways this year. Our team is busy coming up with new innovative ideas.
Thanks to mother nature bringing us close to three feet of new snow, we have begun to push snow around in South Park. Chris, TJ, and Pete are out there right now creating features that will be ready by Saturday as well.
Saturday will be the day that the entire team joins the force. Look for the guys in Dragon goggles, Quicksilver Black jackets and Quicksilver neon blue pants. Any questions about the park, just ride up and ask. We are here for you.

Snow And Shovels

Monday, December 15th, 2008

The snow has not let up since it started Saturday morning. With 20″ of new snow, the Unbound crew has not stopped shoveling out our features. Today is not the day to be in the park; yet, it makes for an optimistic future, more snow for the super pipe and more raw material for the production of massive jumps. Hope everyone is enjoying the pow turns. Congratulations to all of our athletes who competed in the Grand Prix at Copper! Good Luck at the Dew Tour!

Even when chairs cant run our guys are out there

Even when chairs cant run our guys are out there

Looking outside the office, I am only able to see the neon orange flag from the snowmobile blowing in the wind. It is a whiteout here in Mammoth and we are loving every minute of it. The forecast for the week says snow snow snow! That means more snow for the halfpipe and bigger jumps, and maybe Southpark… lets keep our fingers crossed and keep doing the snow dance.
